Brandon Lucas, a junior information systems and management double major, reflects on his experience as president of the Smith Business Academy during fall 2017 at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. This summer Lucas will be working as a commercial technology consultant intern with PwC in Washington, D.C.

Students Enjoy Pancakes at Stacks on Smith

Ask any one of the nearly 200 undergraduates at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business if having a belly-full of pancakes, eggs, sausage, and fruit helps with end-of-semester projects, studying for final exams and all-around stress relief – and the answer will be a resounding YES! The students flocked to Van Munching Hall’s Executive Meeting Room on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2017, to enjoy the evening feast hosted by the Undergrad Program Board.

Undergrads Shine at QUEST Conference

Lauren Black, class of 2019 accounting and information systems double major, writes about the QUEST Annual Conference held at the University of Maryland on Dec. 7, 2017. On Dec. 7, seven QUEST teams from Cohort 26 presented their findings and recommendations for their capstone project at the bi-annual QUEST Conference at the University of Maryland. Each team of four-to-five students from varying schools and majors put countless hours into delivering phenomenal presentations that blew the crowd, especially their clients, away.

Jorge Richardson ’18 Talks about His Case Competition in Canada

Victor Mullins, associate dean of the undergraduate program at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business, recently asked Jorge Richardson ’18 to share his recent involvement competing at the National Investment Banking Competition (NIBC) in Toronto, Canada. It is also one of the many experiential learning opportunities supported by Dean Mullins and the Office of Undergraduate Program.

Terps Participate in Smith Holiday Drive

On Dec. 7, 2017, scores of students, faculty and staff at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business joined the building-wide Smith Holiday Drive by supporting the Red Cross’s Blood Drive, donating toys for the District Alliance for Safe Housing and by crafting cheerful greeting cards to be given to elderly residents in a local assisted living facility.

The Smith School hosted a range of events – from an alumni panel on global competencies in the workplace to an international dance workshop – to celebrate the global mindset of its students, faculty and staff.
