My Smith Experience

Learn While Doing

I decided to pursue an MBA because I wanted to pivot into marketing. Smith was the right choice for me because the program was so analytics focused. I knew that would set me apart in my marketing career.

My favorite course and professor? This would be a tie between Consumer Insights with Rebecca Ratner and Product Innovation with Professor Yogesh Joshi. I have a psychology background and Consumer Insights taught me how to apply that knowledge to marketing which was fun! The product innovation class was great because it gave me some hands-on marketing experience to talk about in interviews. As a career transitioner, it was helpful to have that experience as a reference.

My classmates were supportive. It felt like one big family. There was always someone willing to do a mock interview with you or cheer you on before a presentation. The community was also really helpful in sharing internship and post-grad opportunities as well as interview tips/company insights.

The program taught me to be strategic and how to effectively use data. This has helped me gain buy-in when pitching new ideas! I would recommend the program to anyone looking for a hands-on, globally diverse, analytical-driven MBA experience.
