Seeking Superstar Seniors at the University of Maryland for MBA Direct Admit Program

The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is offering a unique opportunity to go directly into its full-time MBA program in fall 2012. The MBA Direct Admit Program will admit five highly qualified 2012 graduates from the University of Maryland at College Park to the Smith School’s full-time MBA program, enrolling in fall 2012.

Smith MBAs to Celebrate Annual “International Week”

Smith School of Business is eagerly awaiting the celebration of one of the school’s long held traditions: International Week, Feb 20-23, 2012. Smith students come from a variety of backgrounds: approximately 40 percent of MBAs come from outside of the United States, including China, India, Kenya, Nigeria, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, and Venezuela.

Smith School of Business spent Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Van Munching Hall for the school’s annual Diversity at Smith Day hosted by MBA Admissions. Freshman get a crash course in the art of networking—from MBAs. Networking is an essential skill in the professional’s arsenal, and you can’t get started too early. On Thursday, November 10, the Smith School’s Freshman Fellows learned how to work a room from an unusual source—Smith MBA students. The freshman got a quick presentation on tips and best practices, and then split into small groups to practice networking and present their personal elevator pitch for review.

Smith School Alumna Named No. 1 Cadet in the Nation

When Mariya Golotyuk ’10 moved to the United States from Ukraine, she never expected that less than a decade later she would be recognized as the U.S. Army Cadet Command’s Cadet of the Year. Golotyuk, who anticipates graduating with her MBA in 2012, also captured the top spot on the Order of Merit List, which ranks all Army ROTC seniors across the nation.
