Smith Welcomes MS Students

About 500 new students participated in orientation from Aug. 19 to 27 for the Robert H. Smith School of Business’ Master of Science in Business program. Activities took place on main campus, as well as the Smith centers at Shady Grove and the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C.   The Dean’s Office welcomed the students with remarks from newly-appointed Dean Alex Triantis, Interim Dean Michael Ball and Vice Dean Joyce Russell. 

MBA Orientation 2013

The Robert H. Smith School of business proudly welcomed its newest class of full-time MBA students during a 7-day orientation at the end of August 2013. The Class of 2015 has 105 students who came together to meet each other, second-year MBAs, faculty and staff before starting their journey for their MBA. They were welcomed by Dean Alex Triantis, Vice Dean Joyce Russell, Associate Dean Ken White and many more members of the Smith community during their orientation.

Smith Welcomes New Part-Time MBA Students

The Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland opened its doors to its newest class of part-time MBA students on Aug. 18 for the 2012 orientation. Some of Smith’s busiest students, this group of MBAs are students part-time and employed full-time. Because of that, their classes can take place on evenings during the week or on a full day of class on Saturday. To get them used to this new and busy schedule, part-time orientation was held on a Saturday and was packed full of information about their years to come as members of the Smith community.

Smith School Welcomes New MBA Students

The Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland is happy to welcome its newest class of full-time MBA students. The two-week long orientation kicked off on August 13, 2012, in Van Munching Hall with a week full of activities. Each activity – welcome speeches from Smith deans, the ropes course, team-building activities, icebreaker sessions, evening socials, and more – was designed to help the 114 new students better acquaint themselves with the Smith School, the College Park area, and their fellow classmates.  

Smith Team MBA Cleans up Fort Washington Park

During the final day of MBA orientation (August 21, 2007) students from the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business gathered at Fort Washington Park where they spent time cleaning up the park, which is a historic fort and part of the National Park Service situated in Maryland along the Potomac River.

Smith Welcomes Full-time MBA Class of 2009

Members of the new full-time MBA class kicked off their Smith School experience Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, the first day of a weeklong orientation to introduce them to Smith and the programs they'll be immersed in for the next two years, as well as provide a chance to meet faculty, staff and each other.

Presenting the Smith MBA Class of 2006

Sprinting, jumping and hurdling, nearly 160 students representing 22 countries came together on August 16, 2004, in Van Munching Hall to begin their two-year pursuit of the coveted Smith School MBA degree. The weeklong orientation for the Class of 2006, whose collective favorite Olympic sport is track and field, featured keynote speakers, team-building exercises, career planning, and networking events.
