Voting Open for Smith Photo Contest

Voting is now open for the Smith Photo Contest. We received 200 photo submissions to our contest and now it is up to you to decide which two photos you'd like to see hanging in Van Munching Hall. The two photos with the most Facebook "Likes" will win the "People's Choice" category. 

Smith Students Launch Diversity Initiative

This semester, undergraduate students at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business launched the Diversity Empowerment Council (DEC).  With a vision to help represent and expand diversity within Smith, the DEC will focus on strengthening unity, student integration and academic excellence. 

CHIDS’ Crowley Co-Develops Award-Winning ‘Disaster Box’

Kenyon Crowley, deputy director of the Smith School’s Center for Health Information Decision Systems (CHIDS), is part of a doctoral-student team whose disaster response system captured first place in a recent international competition.

Diversity Fireside Moves Conversation Beyond Race, Gender

Working professionals must expand their definitions of diversity to include more than just race and gender, U.S. Office of Diversity & Inclusion Director Veronica Villalobos told faculty, staff and students on Oct. 31, 2014, at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. The new American workplace, as described by Villalobos during the school’s inaugural Diversity Fireside Chat, requires inclusion based on race and gender — but also on other factors such as national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation and even different ways of thinking.

Kristin is one of the the biggest cheerleaders for Smith undergrads. From orientation to graduation, Kristin LaRiviere is always there for Smith undergraduates. Focusing on the freshman experience, she pushes students outside of their comfort zones, encouraging them to fully engage with their peers. recruiters and the Smith community.
