Smith Terps Participate in Community Service Learning at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary
On Friday, October 21, 2016, students and staff from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business participated in a community service learning activity with the Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary on the Patuxent River in Lothian, Maryland. Smith Terp volunteers got a tour of the beautiful gardens. They also learned about ecology and how non-native invasive plants can have a negative impact. The students made a significant impact to the sanctuary by identifying and removing invasive plants by hand pulling them.
