Court Classic Brings Smith Community Together
Faculty, staff, students and alumni came together on Feb. 24, 2017, for the second Court Classic at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. In a single night the differences in class years, majors and fraternity memberships were all forgotten as teams competed in a basketball tournament organized by the Undergraduate Program Board. “We won our first game. It was a crazy game,” said Smith School accounting major Conner Haaf ’17. “It’s a lot of fun representing my fraternity and playing with my friends.”
Smith Flips Spring Recruiting with Reverse Career Fair
This year the Office of Career Services and the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business decided to turn the tables on students and recruiters as part of the spring Undergraduate Career Fair. For the first time, Smith held the Reverse Career Fair student leadership networking event the evening of Feb. 9, allowing employers the opportunity to stroll through a room of student leaders from 25 student organizations.
Prospective PT-MBA Students Attend Super Saturday
Applicants to the part-time MBA program at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business were invited to visit Van Munching Hall, home of the Smith School, on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, as part of a new admissions event series: “Smith Super Saturdays.” Nearly 100 prospective PT-MBA students attended the event last weekend, which included networking sessions, workshops, panels, meet-and-greet with faculty, and interviews by current students and alumni.
