The University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business will hold its commencement ceremony at the Comcast Center on Sunday, December 21, at 1 p.m.

In an emotional ceremony at the Comcast Center, 700 undergraduates, 350 MBA students and 2 doctoral students received their Smith School degrees on May 23, 2008.

College Park, Md. - May 6, 2008 - The University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business today announced that alumnus Robert H. Smith, former chairman of Charles E. Smith Cos. and naming donor to the school, will deliver the keynote speech at the May 23 graduation ceremony. The event will be held at 4 p.m. at the Comcast Center on the university's College Park campus.

An enthusiastic crowd gathered in Comcast Center on Dec. 20, 2007, to cheer on a brand-new crop of proud Smith School alumni. Allan Edelson 81, director of Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage, Inc., joined in the congratulations and gave his fellow alumni advice on selecting a career and specific steps they could take to be successful in their first job.

Under the towering ceiling of Comcast Center, 780 undergraduates, 300 MBA students, 50 EMBA students, and 12 doctoral students received their business degrees from the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business on May 21, 2007.

An enthusiastic crowd gathered in Comcast Center on December 21, 2006, to cheer on a brand-new crop of proud Smith School alumni. Richard Schaeffer 74, chairman of NYMEX Holdings, Inc., and the New York Mercantile Exchange, joined in the congratulations and urged his fellow business school alumni to persevere in the pursuits of their post-graduation goals.

Carly Fiorina, former chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard and 1980 MBA graduate of the Smith School, delivered the keynote address at the Smith Schools commencement ceremony on Monday, May 22, 2006.
