Students Go Abroad on Faculty-led, Short-term Programs After a Two Year Break

For the first time since 2020, undergraduate and MBA students at the Robert H. Smith School of Business spent the winter 2023 term participating in faculty-led, short-term study abroad programs. Maryland Partners in International Trade Hosts Webinar on Risk in International Markets

The Center for Global Business (CGB) presented the second installment of a new series of webinars by the MAPIT Alliance focused on risk when entering international markets. In the webinar, “Choosing and Entering Foreign Markets,” experts shared helpful tips and best practices about how to make informed, strategic decisions and limit risk when considering expanding businesses internationally. They also provided guidance around the types of information to consider when researching potential markets.

Incoming MBAs Deliver Solutions to Morgan Stanley

A team of four incoming MBA students took home an $800 prize on Aug. 22, 2019, for winning a live case competition sponsored by investment bank Morgan Stanley.  First-year students in the full-time program at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business were divided into 12 teams during their two-week orientation. The challenge was to figure out how Morgan Stanley could encourage collaboration on a newly formed global team with offices in different time zones. Students were given three days to prepare their recommendations.
