The Case Challenge: Create a Post-Pandemic Economic Plan

It’s difficult to figure out where to start when it comes to addressing the economic fallout caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. But these Maryland Smith students have an idea. On March 6, Maryland Smith MBA students – Ashlee Albertson, Daylin Russo, Morgan Daly and Sara Bartczak – placed fourth out of 80 teams internationally in the 3rd annual Net Impact Case Competition on Social Responsibility at the University of Colorado, Boulder’s Leeds School of Business.

According to Net Impact’s recently released 2014 “Business as UNusual” rankings, the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business ranks 20th in Social Impact and 30th in Sustainability among MBA programs.

Net Impact Is Chapter of the Year

Last week at the Net Impact Conference in San Jose, the Smith Undergraduate Net Impact chapter (SUNI) at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business was awarded 2013 Undergraduate National Chapter of the Year. The Net Impact conference is a national convening of nearly 3,000 students and professional leaders using their careers to change the world.

Peter C. Fusaro, one of the world's leading experts on energy and environmental markets, spoke at the Smith School of Business on December 5, 2006. Fusaro is the founder of Global Change Associates and the CEO of Energy & Environment Capital Management, LLC.
