Entrepreneurs Join Amazing Race Across China

MBA students from the Smith School joined peers from China and Israel in a business plan competition May 25 to June 1, 2014, in Beijing. Overall, participants vied for $2,750 in cash prizes during the China Business Model Competition, organized by Smith’s Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship and host partner, Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management. Other participants came from Zhejiang University in China and the Technion Israeli Institute of Technology.

Chinese MBAs Visit For Short-term Immersion Course

Smith’s Office of Global Initiatives hosted 75 Chinese MBA students from Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management in Beijing – one of China’s premiere business schools – for two weeks last month in College Park. The students, most of whom had never been to the United States, traveled to Maryland to experience business education in an American setting. The two groups were on campus from July 7 to 19 and attended special courses with Smith faculty Rosallina Ferraro, Xiaohui Gao, Brent Goldfarb, Mary Harms, Sunil Mithas, Janet Wagner, Liu Yang and Jie Zhang.

On October 1, 2012 - China's National Day - the Robert H. Smith School of Business hosted executive MBA students from Peking University HSBC School of Business (PHBS). The 31 executives were travelling across the U.S. on a study trip, visiting several U.S. cities and universities to learn more about the global economy from a U.S. perspective.
