Smith’s P.K. Kannan Named Distinguished University Professor

The University of Maryland named marketing professor P.K. Kannan a Distinguished University Professor, its highest faculty honor, recognizing his global impact in marketing science. The appointment follows multiple recent awards, including AMA Fellow and INFORMS Society for Marketing Science Fellow honors.

Michel Wedel a Distinguished University Professor

Marketing professor Michel Wedel has been named a Distinguished University Professor – the University of Maryland’s highest academic honor that’s reserved for a limited number of professors whose scholarly activities have brought distinction to the university. 

Roland Rust Named Distinguished University Professor

Roland Rust, David Bruce Smith Chair in Marketing, chair of the marketing department, and executive director of the Center for Excellence in Service and the Center for Complexity in Business, has been named Distinguished University Professor. It is the highest honor presented by the university; only 50 have been conferred since the award’s inception 28 years ago.

Smith School of Business today announced that Roland Rust, David Bruce Smith Chair in Marketing and marketing department chair at the Smith School, has been named distinguished university professor. The title is granted as a formal title of the highest distinction by the university president.
