COLLEGE PARK, Md. (Apr. 24, 2026) – The Center for Social Value Creation (CSVC) at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business hosted its Spring Conscious Business Roundtable, bringing together business leaders and practitioners for meaningful conversations on conscious leadership, responsible business practices, and long-term value
creation.
The invitation-only event created an opportunity for participants to exchange perspectives and explore how organizations can put purpose and values into practice. Through facilitated discussions, attendees examined the challenges and opportunities of leading with intention while balancing business performance with stakeholder needs.
The roundtable focused on two key themes: Leading the Right Way and Owning the Right Way. Discussions on conscious leadership explored values-driven decision-making, workplace culture, and building trust within organizations. Conversations around responsible ownership examined stakeholder alignment, long-term value creation, and business practices that support lasting
impact.
Participants engaged in peer discussions centered on real-world leadership experiences, including how organizations can foster environments where employees feel comfortable speaking up, maintain their values under pressure, and align internal systems and incentives with their broader purpose.
The event also strengthened connections between academia and business, creating space for leaders to share practical insights and reflect on how conscious business principles can shape organizational culture and decision-making.
The Spring Conscious Business Roundtable reflects the Center for Social Value Creation’s commitment to integrating purpose, sustainability, and social impact into business education and practice. By bringing together leaders committed to responsible business, CSVC continues to foster conversations that advance conscious leadership and long-term value creation.
