We’re Breathing: A Queer Open Mic Night

The Office of Multicultural Involvement & Community Advocacy, The Clarice’s NextNOW Fest, and the LGBT Equity Center warmly welcome you to attend this year’s Queer Open Mic. This year, the theme and title of our event is "We’re Breathing: A Queer Open Mic". This continues a longstanding tradition in queer communities of coming out, calling in, and confronting power by sharing our lived experiences. In honor of National Coming Out Day (October 11), we pay homage to all acts of courage and queer brilliance. We hold everyone who is on their journeys close, and acknowledge that whether you are out, still exploring, or choose not to come out, you are valid and wonderful. We are happy to welcome Alicia Ortiz as our featured artist for the evening. This virtual open mic event serves as a space to celebrate authenticity in any form. We can't wait for your performances! Please save the date for Thursday, October 15, from 5:30-7 p.m.

Please direct questions to Dorothy Kou at dkou@umd.edu.
