Dr. Sue Cooper currently employed with the Accounting and Information Assurances department at the University of Maryland, College Park. With 20+ years of experience in both academia and industry, she is primarily responsible for teaching managerial accounting courses to undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Cooper She holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio, an MEd in Mathematics Curriculum from the University of Texas at Arlington, an MBA from Utah State University, and a BS from Utah Valley University. Her professional certifications include CMA (Certified Management Accountant), EA (IRS Enrolled Agent), and Microsoft Excel Expert. 

Dr. Cooper's research interests include audit risk, regulatory compliance, ESG reporting, and the capital market effects of sustainability disclosures. She has published in the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy and Accounting and the Public Interest, and has served as a panelist at several American Accounting Association (AAA) conferences to discuss sustainability accounting. She is known for her practical, no-nonsense approach to teaching and is committed to equipping students with skills that apply directly to business settings.
