Lu Zhang, PhD, CPA, is an associate clinical professor of accounting and information assurance at Maryland Smith, which he joined in 2021. He earned a BS in finance from the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and a PhD in accounting from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. He teaches financial reporting, managerial accounting, intermediate accounting, accounting systems, data analysis, and audit analytics to MBA, master’s, and undergraduate students at UMD and Rutgers. An AI Faculty Fellow, he leads AI integration in the curriculum. His research interests include managerial accounting, audit analytics, and data visualization.
