Professor Fong is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. She earned her PhD in Marketing from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BA from the California Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on digital platforms and consumer information. In particular, she studies how platform information design, such as platform-suggested prices, product rankings, and AI disclosure, shapes consumer behavior. She uses field experiments, structural models, and causal inference methods in her research. Her work has been published in Marketing Science, Management Science, and the Journal of Marketing Research. She serves on the Editorial Review Boards of the Journal of Marketing Research and Marketing Science.
