Smith EMBA Program Launches in Beijing

Classes kicked off April 12 in Beijing for the Smith School’s new cohort of executive MBA students in China. The Smith School partners with China’s University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) to offer the joint 18-month degree program. The partnership began in 2003 and relaunches this year after a four-year hiatus. The program focuses on executive coaching, entrepreneurship and global perspectives. Greg Hanifee, assistant dean of executive programs at the Smith School, greeted the new class in an opening ceremony during the program’s first course session.

University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business Offers EMBA in Beijing

College Park, Md. and Beijing, China – September 25, 2011 – On the occasion of the University of International Business and Economics’ (UIBE) 60th anniversary, UIBE and the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business will announce an extension of their partnership that began in 2003. Both schools will welcome alumni to the 60th Anniversary celebrations, hosted at the UIBE campus in Beijing. The celebration held during the weekend of September 24th includes a wealth of events, including an official announcement to the press regarding the UIBE/Smith partnership.

Smith School Students Are Changing the World, One Book at a Time

Students and alumni from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business are setting an example for social responsibility in China. The Smith Executive MBA program community in Shanghai helped support the second annual Team Maryland Charity Fundraiser Dinner at the Shanghai Howard Johnson Zhangjiang Hotel on November 29 in support of The Library Project, a non-profit organization that provides books and libraries to schools and orphanages in remote or impoverished areas in China.

Opening Reception Welcomes Participants to Smith's Second Executive MBA Cohort in Shanghai

Approximately 60 attendees including Smith alumni, U.S. government officials, senior corporate executives, as well as current and new participants in the Smith Schools Shanghai EMBA cohorts 1 & 2 were on hand for an official opening reception to welcome the newest members of the Smith Schools community on December 7, 2006 in Shanghai. The reception celebrated the start of the second Shanghai Executive MBA cohort since the programs debut in November 2006, and the successful progression of the Smith Schools custom and executive education offerings in China.
