WASHINGTON, D.C. — Financial regulators and researchers explored new ideas on May 16, 2014, during a daylong conference co-hosted by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Center for Financial Policy at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.
BSE students joined almost 500 fellow Scholars at the College Park Scholars’ 18th Annual Academic Showcase held May 9th, 2014.
During the second half of the spring 2014 semester, graduate students in the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business developed mobile health applications. Their mission targeted challenges to patient-consumers posed by diabetes, elder care, urgent-care logistics, obesity and treatment selection. [VIDEO]
The Smith community came together on May 8, 2014, to celebrate the achievements of top undergraduate students at the 14th annual Dean’s Undergraduate Senior Awards Dinner. More than 70 students, faculty and staff enjoyed a dinner at Van Munching Hall. The much-anticipated annual celebration was the cap on the academic year and a final celebration before course finals and commencement.
This spring, Smith undergraduates teamed up with UMD engineering and computer science peers to answer a challenge from IBM to develop ideas for implementing its recent customer service innovation, the Watson Engagement Advisor.
