5 Master of Finance students and 3 MBA students from the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business are in Bangladesh April 16-26, 2014 on a one-week mission with the World Bank to explore the possibility of expanding rural electrification through solar energy micro-grids.

A team of full-time, first-year MBA students from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business captured second place in the 22nd edition of the Fisher Invitational Case Competition at Ohio State University.
Brendan Collins, Bini Dawit, Nadine Payne and Katie Tedrow represented Smith among 11 MBA programs. Competitors represented Big Ten Conference schools, plus programs from the University of Rochester and Washington University in St. Louis.
On Thursday, April 17, 2014, MBA students at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business had a chance to show off their skills outside the classroom at the Fourth Annual “Smith’s Got Talent” event.
Classmates, faculty and staff gathered outside of Van Munching Hall to watch the students showcase their talents. The performances included everything from singing and dancing to comedy sketches.
University of Maryland students and not just learning about entrepreneurship this semester – they are hard at work starting and growing their own businesses. And for the first time, they are also getting course credit to do so.
