Nominations Open for Faculty Member of Distinction Award

Nominations Open for Faculty Member of Distinction Award

Student members of The Dean’s Student Advisory Council (DSAC) are collecting nominations from seniors at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business for the 2017’s Faculty Member of Distinction Award. This year’s recipient will be honored on May 4, 2017, at the 17th Annual Undergraduate Senior Awards Dinner. While students are coordinating this effort, faculty members throughout Van Munching Hall are also selecting an Outstanding Senior for each academic department who has most successfully navigated the Smith Journey during his/her last several years here at the Smith School. Victor Mullins, associate dean of the Smith undergraduate program, will honor selected students and faculty at the Senior Awards Dinner, along with department chairs, the selected students’ families and friends, and other invited faculty and staff. Dean Mullins will also honor one-to-two student recipients of the “Dean’s Leadership Award.”

The Dean’s Student Advisory Council (DSAC) serves as the voice of Smith to help ensure that there is a constant enhancement of programs, classes and procedures so that Smith stays a world-class program, recognized by our peers and top companies. DSAC is comprised of 16 undergraduate students who continually meet with Smith faculty, advisory boards, students, and leaders to elicit ideas and to facilitate the implementation of meaningful, productive changes. All students who have taken on the role of being a DSAC member have done so because of their commitment to work behind the scenes to do their part to ensure that Smith is as great as they know it can be.

Council Members for 2016-17 are: Cece Ukejianya, Jordan Arndt, Gopal Srinivasan, Allison Leap, Bobby Crumbaugh, Kelly Cosgriff, Jessica Lewis, Nicole Lopez, Lina Bauer, Mimi Verdonk, Ben Hawtof, and Aaron Yang.
