Frank B. Alt is a recipient of the Krowe Award for Teaching Excellence (1993 and 1996) and the Distinguished IBM-TQ Teaching Award (1994) from the Robert H. Smith School of Business. He was recognized with four stars in the Business Week GUIDE TO THE BEST BUSINESS SCHOOLS (1997) for his teaching performance in the MBA program. Alt’s research interests include statistical quality control, applied multivariate analysis, and forecasting with a particular interest and expertise in multivariate process control. He has served for two terms on the editorial board of the Journal of Quality Technology and is a former chair of the Statistics Division of the American Society for Quality. Alt has interacted widely with regional corporations through consulting and in his previous role as faculty coordinator for the Smith School's MBA Consulting Program.
