Melissa Borts is an MBA candidate at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. With a passion for social impact and sustainability and a background in corporate non-profits, she is working towards completing her degree with a focus in consulting and general management. Outside of class, she is involved with a few student engagements including: the Net Impact club, Smith Association for Women MBAs, and the Consulting Club. She is also involved with the Change the World Consulting program, organized by the Center for Social Value Creation. Outside of school, she enjoys hiking, rock climbing and running.
Digital Media and Marketing Intern
Elizabeth Gillum is a junior studying marketing and supply chain management at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. She worked as a social media marketing intern over the summer with Dale Carnegie Training in Baltimore, Md. She also has experience working with nonprofits through her work with terpAMA as director of nonprofit consulting. She is involved with organizations on campus such as Colleges Against Cancer, the LeaderShape Institute and the QUEST Honors program. Outside of academics, she enjoys taking dance workout classes like Zumba and playing intramural sports.
Naresh Poonia is a second-year MBA candidate at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. He is focused on finance and analytics in his MBA. As a software engineer who started his career with IBM, he brings nine years of corporate experience in banking with such banks as Citibank, where he managed client portfolios worth several millions of dollars and critical client relationships. Originally from India, he founded and managed a non-profit that provides quality education to out-of-school children from poor neighborhoods in the country. He plans to expand his non-profit internationally and educate a million children across the world. He is a sports enthusiast and loves playing cricket, ping-pong and volleyball.
