The Smith Undergraduate Student Association (SUSA) is built upon the pillars of accountability, engagement, and service. Externally, SUSA must serve as a liaison between the Smith population and student-led organizations. Internally, SUSA seeks to create a connected culture for this and future administrations to grow upon. In addition to providing governance and support for 25 SUSA-recognized student organizations, SUSA seeks to enhance the Smith community through a variety of services and programs for the Smith undergraduate population. These programs hit on all aspects of the student experience, including community, professional development, service and wellness.
Accounting and Business Association (ABA), College Park Chapter
The Accounting and Business Association, better known as ABA, provides opportunities for personal, academic and professional development for students interested in the accounting profession, through regular meetings, professional speakers and community service. Since its founding in 2002, we work with Undergraduate Smith Students to help them polish their accounting skills, find internships, and network to get jobs. Membership is open to all majors. Our biggest event is the Fall Career Fair, which hosted over 30 firms last year, while our biggest community service initiative takes place in the spring when we participate in a Baltimore river cleanup known Project Clean Stream. Accounting Business Association (ABA), Shady Grove Chapter
The mission of the Accounting & Business Association Shady Grove Chapter (ABA Shady Grove) is to provide opportunities for personal, academic and professional development for students interested in the accounting profession, through regular meetings, professional speakers, community service and social activities. The organization functions under the auspices and with the guidance of the Accounting Department of the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
Ascend at UMD (formerly Asian Business Association)
Ascend at UMD helps students develop extensive student and professional connections within various industries while improving leadership and communication skills in preparation for the business world.
Ascend is the largest, non-profit Pan-Asian organization for business professionals in North America. Established in 2005, Ascend has grown to serve professionals and corporations across various professions and across multiple industries. Ascend reaches 60,000 people with 30 student chapters and 17 professional chapters located in both the United States and Canada around major business hubs and educational institutions.

Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA)
ALPFA is the largest Latino association for business professionals and student chapters nationwide with over 81,000 members. Our ALPFA-UMD student chapter is committed to promoting diversity, beyond race, ethnicities and gender, as well as, providing professional growth and development opportunities to our members. We are dedicated to providing our members jobs, internship, and development opportunities in business and related fields. We pride ourselves on helping to grow diverse leaders on campus and in the future workforce. We welcome all majors including non-Smith students.
Terp American Marketing Association (TerpAMA)
Our mission is to enhance our members' educational, professional, and social experience through the application of marketing skills and exposure to the vast array of opportunities that lie beyond the classroom.

Consult Your Community is an undergraduate club within the Smith School of Business that provides pro-bono consulting services to local companies around the College Park and D.C. area. Each semester we have 20 business analysts that work with 5 local businesses, nonprofits, student organizations, and start-ups. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of consulting, we are open to all majors. Applications for the following semester open at the end of the current semester.

International Economics & Finance Society (IEFS)

The mission of the MMBS is to provide students with knowledge about local and national music businesses and the significance and full range of their work, as well as insight into the various career paths within the industry. We will help prepare undergraduate students for careers in these or related professions in the music industry.
National Association of Black Accountants (NABA)
The National Association of Black Accountants, better known as NABA, is a nonprofit membership association dedicated to bridging the opportunity gap for people of color in the Accounting, Finance, Consulting, Information Technology and other related business professions. Representing more than 200,000 people of color in these fields, NABA, Inc. advances people, advances careers and advances the mission by providing education, resources and meaningful career connections to both professional and student members, fulfilling the principle of our motto: Lifting As We Climb. The purpose of the REC is to explore the wealth-building opportunities of Real Estate through, but not limited to, the education of market conditions, financing, investing, rehabbing (“flipping”), management, and developing. Our vision for the club is to create an interactive learning environment, where members are able to share various connections and resources, in order to gain knowledge and experience in their preferred field of real estate.
Smith Business Academy (SBA)
The Smith Business Academy is an organization created to serve as an inclusive community for Black and Latinx men. Our mission is to empower every student in our multi-ethnic and diverse community to be men of distinction academically, socially, and professionally — so that they may ultimately serve as leaders within the academy at Smith and within the community at large. We seek to achieve this mission through events with companies and campus organizations that include — but are not limited to — industry-awareness meetings, skill-driven workshops, networking events, and community building activities.
We believe deeply in service through mentorship. As such, we engage with SBA alumni to further strengthen individual members' professional goals as well as the goals of the organization.
Sports Business Society (SBS)
SBS strives to help students interested in pursuing a career in the sports industry (or even just interested in sports) learn from and connect with professionals currently in the field. Primarily our events consist of bringing in guest speakers from the industry, where they share their story, give advice, and open up to questions at the end. Each semester we have our signature event, in the fall we go to a Wizards game and in the spring we go to a Nats game. Each time we set up a speaker from the respective organizations to talk to us before the game.
Supply Chain Management Society (SCMS)
Supply Chain Management Society is a club that bridges the gap between the Supply Chain Management Department at Smith, its students, and the professional world. Our goals include educating our members about the field of supply chain, possible career paths in supply chain, and company activities within supply chain. We host a variety of events throughout the semester with different companies to learn about how they leverage supply chain and the impacts that it has on their organization. In addition, we host a career fair for our members which is our signature fall event. Smith Finance Group (SFG) is the premier finance organization at the University of Maryland. SFG offers students who are interested in finance a community in which they can learn, professionally develop, and advance their career search and opportunities. Our meetings create an opportunity to engage in dialogue about financial markets, discuss appropriate valuation and modeling techniques, and guide students into coveted roles at prestigious financial institutions.

Women in Business Association (WBA)
The Women in Business Association strives to create a welcoming sisterhood for business-oriented women. We look to form a broad professional network, empower our members, and develop strong female leaders. We accomplish this by hosting various companies and speakers that inspire our members to conquer the many issues that women face in the workplace. Our meetings foster confidence and give our members the resources to accomplish anything they set their mind to.

Women’s Empowerment Institute
The Women’s Empowerment Institute (WEI) creates an inclusive community for Black and Latinx women in the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Our mission is to embolden each member to maximize their full potential. The women of WEI are empowered to become confident global leaders by:
- Engaging in experiential learning that equips them with the business acumen necessary for success in a professional setting
- Connecting with business leaders in the field to build a robust professional network and create connections for future internship/career opportunities
- Creating an environment of trust where transparent feedback and experiences as racially underrepresented women will be shared and supported
- Sharing career resources within the community to facilitate a repository of current opportunities
Each semester members attend professional development workshops, skills-focused sessions and community events. WEI values mentorship and as such fosters connections between current members and program alumni.
