The Smith General Business minor is a partially online blended learning program with a sequenced curriculum structure. Admitted students are expected to complete courses in three categories: (a) Foundations [year one] (b) Programs of Study (c) Experiential Learning to obtain the minor. Smith minor foundations courses have a blended learning format. Blended learning is a combination of online and in-person instruction. The level of online learning varies for each course, expectations are outlined by each course instructor. Minor courses are only available to admitted minor students. No prerequisite courses are required to apply.
Students may fulfill the Smith minor BMGT210 requirement with successful completion of both BMGT220 and BMGT221. Accounting (BMGT210) is a pre-requisite for Finance (BMGT345). Smith minors require a total of 15 credit hours to complete in addition to your major program of study.
A new Smith minor curriculum is in effect beginning fall 2017, current students can opt into the new curriculum or continue with the old curriculum (spring 2015–fall 2016). See curriculum plans listed below.
