In the past decade, Business Analytics has gained enormously in prominence with business and government institutions and entities understanding its importance and power in forecasting, prediction and managerial decision making. There is a high demand for managers with Business Analytics skills. A 2011 McKinsey report on Business Analytics and Big Data states: “The United States alone faces a shortage of 140,000 to 190,000 people with analytical expertise and 1.5 million managers and analysts with the skills to understand and make decisions based on the analysis of big data.” In the past decade, many management professionals with analytics skills have found jobs in a wide range of industries and tasks, including Healthcare Analytics, Fraud Detection, Airline and Transportation Analytics, Internet and Social Media, Operational Analytics, and Purchasing and Procurement Analytics. We anticipate that this demand will grow and continue.

There is a broad range of careers and sectors graduates with Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) degree can find employment in. Potential job titles include consultant, quantitative analyst, data scientist, operations and supply chain manager, and data manager. Some of the sectors that graduates with business analytics skills find jobs include finance and banking, consulting, high technology, Internet and social media, electronic commerce, hospitals and healthcare organizations, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, supply chain, human resources management, and cyber-security.
