Why did you choose to attend the Smith School of Business?
I chose to earn my Masters from the Smith School of Business because I attended my undergrad at University of Maryland, with a degree in Psychology and a minor in General Business. I felt that Smith would provide me with countless number of connections and endless opportunities to really expand my network. I think that working with the Smith Faculty allows you to grow in your career and develop knowledge and skills needed to excel in the real world. I also know that Smith prepares you well through its programs, clubs and events that are held for Smith Students, and I really wanted to be a part of such an ambitious community.
In your opinion, what makes your Smith MS program unique?
I believe that the Smith program not only concentrates on the area of the program that you are in, but also other business fields. Even though I am in the Supply Chain Management Program, there are still classes that incorporate learning about Data Models and Analytics, Financial Analysis and Strategic Planning. Therefore, you have significant variability within your specific programs, which allow you to learn more extensively.
What advice would you give to a future applicant?
Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way, and that means clubs, jobs, and Internships. Do not wait until the last minute to search for an internship. It is better to start soon. Make as many connections with peers, older classmates and professors as possible. You never know who can give you the helping hand. Be attentive in class and ahead in your readings. It is always better to be over prepared than under prepared.
