Why did you choose to attend the Smith School of Business?

As someone planning a major career transition, I wanted to make sure I was getting the best opportunity possible, so when I was looking at business schools, Maryland was the first program I looked at. Not only is the University of Maryland – College Park my home away from home, the MBA program at Smith is one of the best in the nation. The education (particularly the supply chain concentration), experiential learning programs, faculty, and student community put Maryland a step above all other MBA programs.

In your opinion, what makes the Smith MBA program unique?

Smith’s program is smaller compared to other top-tier schools, and the tight-knit community that the students have created is what makes Smith unique. Each year, the students develop an incredibly supportive community, they all become very good friends and help each other as they try to achieve both common and individual academic and career goals.

What advice would you give to future Smith MBA candidates?

Become involved as early and often as possible in the MBA program and take advantage of all the wonderful resources the program has to offer. Join clubs, master your skills surrounding your job search, and engage in things you may not seem all that interested in at first.
