MBA/MRED Degree (Master of Real Estate Development)

The business of real estate reaches into all aspects of our communities and institutions, from housing to schools and offices, these are the places where we live, learn, and work. The University of Maryland – College Park is one of the first universities to provide the MRED degree, while the MBA degree offered by the Smith School is a world-renowned and highly ranked program.

The curriculum will provide students with a broad base of business knowledge, management skills, and theory applicable to a wide range of business, and the specialized knowledge and applied skills in developing, financing, and managing real estate assets. The combination of real estate development knowledge and business management expertise will offer students the skill and practice to become innovators who will have impactful and unparalleled careers in real estate.

Dual Degree Policy

Students must apply to each institution for admission. The Smith School of Business and the School of Architecture use separate application processes for admission purposes. Students must meet the admissions requirements of both institutions. Furthermore, once admitted into the program, students will be subject to the rules and conditions of both institutions about acceptable academic performance, reasonable progress toward completion of the degree, and standards of ethical conduct.
