Information for Employers

Smith Undergraduate Career Fair

Event Information

The Smith School Office of Career Services is excited to host its annual spring Smith Undergraduate Career Fair - virtually! This event brings together top employers and talented undergraduates from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.

This fair is open to Smith undergraduate students and Smith undergraduate alumni. Students will be seeking externships, internships and full-time opportunities from all eight business majors: accounting, finance, marketing, supply chain management, operations management and business analytics, information systems, management, and international business.

Friday, February 5, 2021 | 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

The virtual fair will take place using the HireSmith platform (powered by 12Twenty). This platform offers the opportunity for employers to have video engagements with candidates in 1:1 and group settings, unlimited number of company representatives, ability to access candidate resumes, and more.

The virtual capabilities will allow employers to use their own preferred video conference platforms (WebEx, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) to engage with candidates in two ways:

  • Virtual Booth: Employers can host an open virtual room for candidates to drop by and interact with a company representative throughout the duration of the fair, similar to a booth. This option is a great way to host mini-company overview sessions and invite general Q&A.
  • Scheduled 1-on-1 Virtual Video Chats: Employers will have the option to create 1:1 schedules that students will book in advance of the fair. These schedules will be open specifically for students the company is interested in meeting.

We are offering reduced pricing for this virtual event format. Registration includes options for both group and 1:1 video chat features and an unlimited number of company representatives.
