Meet Dr. J. Gerald Suarez, Professor of the Practice in Strategy and Systems Thinking and the former Director of Presidential Quality in the Executive Office of the U.S. President. Appointed by President Bill Clinton, Suarez was asked to stay on in the White House by President George W. Bush. As a public service leader, he led the modernization of Presidential telecommunications and introduced many innovations to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the Administration. He is representative of Smith faculty who work on our government programs—a facilitator with hands-on experience of problem-solving in public service. Suarez is the author of Leader of One.
