Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS)
JIBS is the official journal of the Academy of International Business, and accepts submissions from all business and management disciplines that relate to international (comparative or cross-national) aspects. The journal is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2009.
Smith faculty are invited to consider JIBS as an outlet for their research.
The Smith School is very well represented on the journal's editorial board. Professor Lemma Senbet is the editor for the Finance and International Business area, and Professors Gurdip Bakshi, Wilbur Chung, and Steven Heston are on the editorial review board.
Journal impact factors are widely used as measures of journal quality. With a score of 2.254, JIBS jumped in the Social Sciences Citation Index rankings to 8th place among all Management journals and 8th place among all Business journals in terms of the 2006 Journal Impact Factor -- after SMJ (2.632), ASQ (2.455), and Journal of Marketing Research (2.389).
