UMD Counseling Center Workshop: Resilience and Adaptability

The Resilience and Adaptability Series will explore the ways that our expectations and thoughts affect us in everyday life. We will highlight the ways our expectations may lead to difficulties and provide skills to become more resilient and face life head-on!

First Thursday of the Month: Freedom from Perfectionism
This workshop will explore how perfectionism impacts students and provide strategies to help you embrace imperfection in yourself and others.

Second Thursday of the Month: Dealing with Disappointment
This workshop will help you manage life's frustrations and bounce back from disappointment when things don't go the way you want or expect. Coping skills like mindfulness, gratitude, and a growth mindset will help you come to terms with these feelings and find your "grit" to move forward.

Third Thursday of the Month: Managing Imposter Syndrome
Learn what imposter syndrome is, why it occurs, and the skills to work on overcoming it, so you can go from self-doubt to confidence.

Fourth Thursday of the Month: Navigating Change and Uncertainty
Every day we face uncertainty, whether brought on by big life transitions or everyday experiences. Adjusting to life’s changes and unknowns can be a challenge. This workshop provides strategies to help you cope with uncertainty and adapt to new experiences.

If you cannot attend, view recordings of past workshops on the center's YouTube channel.
