About the speaker:
Delegate Eric Luedtke moved to Montgomery County with his family when he was 10, driven like many families to live in a community with exceptional schools. For 11 years, he was a middle school social studies teacher, working to ensure that every child has a chance to succeed. He ran for the House of Delegates to be a voice for the county’s children and their families. He serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, chairs its Education Subcommittee, and is a member of the Maryland Commission on Disabilities as well as the Governor’s Commission on Suicide Prevention. As of January 2019, Delegate Luedtke was elected by his colleagues to chair the House Democratic Caucus. Eric has advocated for educational innovation, worked to expand access to healthcare and economic opportunity, and has been a strong voice for the environment and animal rights issues. He lives in Burtonsville with his son, Colin.
