PhD Candidate in Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship
Heejung Byun began the program in Fall 2012. Heejung's research interest grounds on the embeddedness perspective to study issues in corporate strategy, entrepreneurship, and human capital acquisition. Specifically, Heejung is interested in understanding the role of embeddedness in value appropriation and how it affects various strategic decisions and outcomes. For example, his recent work examines performance implications of client-led firm diversification, with a focus on the tension between firm capabilities and embeddedness. Currently, he is working with Professor Rajshree Agarwal on projects that apply relational perspectives in industry evolution.
