During the spring 2020 semester, 45 Maryland Smith undergraduate students will participate in semester-long business exchange programs around the world. Three highly qualified Smith students will serve as study abroad ambassadors to share their experience through media content and serve as resources for prospective study abroad students.

This fall, the Center for Global Business (CGB) partnered with the University of Maryland School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (SLLC) to develop and offer an Introduction to Business Japanese course as a continuation of the commitment to the goals of the Center for International Business Education (CIBE), a Title VI grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

Over 110 MBA students participated in the MBA global business common core class held on Sunday, September 22, 2019. The common core is the first academic piece of the students’ study abroad course and serves as the foundation for all faculty-led MBA global business courses.

The center showcased all of the global opportunities available to students at the Smith School including study abroad programs, global internships, on-campus programs, scholarships, case competitions and more.

Since 2009, the Center for Global Business at Maryland Smith has supported over 4,000 students on study abroad programs, trained over 6,300 business professionals in global trade, and awarded over $125,000 in scholarships and grants to faculty and PhD candidates contributing new knowledge to the field of international business.
