Any Idea Stage
Dingman Fridays - Every Friday, experienced entrepreneurs are available to provide actionable feedback on your business idea. These appointments are informal – no suits or business plans necessary. Sessions are open to students, alumni, staff and faculty.
Dingman Center Mentor Network - The Dingman Center Mentor Network is the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship’s initiative to connect our network of successful entrepreneurs and professionals to our top student entrepreneurs.

spark: Where Fearless Ideas Start - An ideation event featuring brainstorming activities that provide students with a means to discover and explore how their passions can translate into business ideas.
Ladies First - Ladies First is the Dingman Center’s commitment to increase the number of women involved in entrepreneurship at UMD. Ladies First features multiple workshops and speaking events throughout the year designed to help aspiring female and non-binary entrepreneurs come up with business ideas to solve problems or social issues they're passionate about.
Developing a Venture Idea
Dingman Jumpstart - Lay the foundation for your idea to become a reality. This pivotal workshop is a crash-course in business models, financials, understanding your competition and much more.
Fearless Founders - Our collection of venture creation offerings that guide student ventures to launch using the lean startup methodology, including New Venture Practicum and Terp Startup. Students who participate in either the course or accelerator gain access to our mentor network. See our list of current students and ventures in Fearless Founders here.
New Venture Practicum - New Venture Practicum is a three-credit spring semester course, cross listed in Testudo as permission only BMGT468R/ENES498R.
Terp Startup - Terp Startup is an eight-week summer accelerator program that offers a stipend up to $5,000 and access to co-working space. Applications are competitive.
Ladies First Founders - As part of our Ladies First initiative, the Ladies First Founders course offers female and non-binary students with a venture a for-credit opportunity to learn soft skills needed to overcome gender biases in entrepreneurship.
Legal Office Hours - Meet with a Dingman Legal Advisor to receive free legal advice for your startup. Suggested for only after you have a minimum viable product.
Showcasing your Venture
Terp Marketplace - Students are given the opportunity to test the market and sell their product or service to the UMD community.
Pitch Dingman Competition - Held annually, students can compete for more than $30,000 in startup funding. The competition consists of a fall Semifinals and a winter Finals competition.
