Experiential Learning

The Robert H. Smith School of Business offers experiential learning opportunities that challenge students to solve complex, real-world business problems. The following experiential learning opportunities expose students to our FEARLESS Consulting Framework.

The FEARLESS Framework guides students through the process of solving complex business problems in dynamic environments. It supports students as they work through a problem-solving process, manage relationships and adapt to changes.

The FEARLESS framework consists of two parts:

Solve Complex Business Problems

  • FRAME the problem
  • EXPLORE the situation
  • ANALYZE the data
  • RECOMMEND and reflect

Manage Dynamic Environments

  • LISTEN actively
  • EMPATHIZE with others
  • SET and manage expectations
  • SHARE your progress and ideas
