Web Server Access -

Welcome!
We are pleased to inform you that
the Smith School's Web site
www.rhsmith.umd.edu has been migrated to a new
Web server during Summer 2008. We hope that the new
server make your browsing and content updating
experience more efficient and secure. If you have
any problems or questions with the site please
let us know.
This form
is Only to be used by Smith School community members
who need access to a Web site under the domain
http://www.rhsmith.umd.edu (previously
it was also called as http://www.smith.umd.edu).

Anyone wishing to gain access to the
Web site you are going to maintain must fill
out the
Web Access Request Form
below first to initiate a new or update an
existing Web site. Confirmation message will then
be sent to you.

Note: Starting
from Fall 2008, Office of Marketing
Communications will maintain all Smith School's
official websites, including individual websites
for Academic Departments, school Offices and
Centers. No Web access will be granted to those
sites unless have special approval. If you have
questions about it or have special needs, please contact
Office of Marketing Communications at
webupdates@rhsmith.umd.edu.

Faculty/Ph.D
students and student Club contacts can still
gain Web access and maintain their personal or
organizational websites. See the request form
for related details.

Students do not have personal Web sites on the
Smith school's Web server. If you are a student
and need a personal Web space, please visit
campus OIT helpdesk or contact Smith IT
helpdesk.

Maintaining the new 'look and
feel' of the Web site in a consistent manner is
important, and therefore we would like to ask
anyone requesting access to familiarize
themselves with the
'How
To' document, which is a guide to
content management on the new site.

We no
longer grant new access to our
old web server. If you do need the access,
please provide more detailed information
including Web directory URL or Web
Address in the
"Comments" field on the web
access request form.
Please address all other access and
server specific questions to the
webmaster
or contact the Smith IT
helpdesk.
