Global Opportunities Fellows

Global Opportunities is a selective and reciprocal academic program for language and business students interested in the world of international business. The program helps students to gain skills outside their majors and enhance their opportunities in the global business arena. Language majors complete 15 credits in business, while business majors complete 15 credits in a single foreign language, 9 credits of which just be at the 300-400 level. Registration is expedited for students in the program, who also participate in study abroad trips, international clubs and co-curricular activities.

Curriculum -- 2 year program

  • BMGT Majors - 15 credits in a single foreign language, 9 credits must be at 300-400 level
  • Language Majors - choose 2 from BMGT 220 (accounting), BMGT 230 (statistics), BMGT 110 (Introduction to Business) Plus choose 3 from BMGT 350 (Marketing), BMGT 364 (Management + Organization Theory), BMGT 392 (International Business), BMGT 461 (Entrepreneurship)

Fellows Application Eligibility

  • BMGT and Foreign Language majors only
  • Minimum Sophomore standing--30 credits earned (excluding AP)
  • Minimum 3.0 cum gpa
  • 200-level BMGT and/or language courses already completed are a PLUS!
  • Essay

Application & Selection Process

  • The application for the Fall 2009 cohort will reopen in Spring 2009.
  • You can work on your application in any order you choose; however, remember to download an essay into your UNet "Profile" (can be downloaded in the "Files" tab of your profile) so that it can later be uploaded into your application, and also update other "Profile" information that is part of the application.
  • You can save your application as a draft (before making a final submission). Your saved application is located in your "Profile" under "My Applications" in UNet. Please remember not to submit your application until you have finished entering all parts of your application . You will only be able to submit this application once and are then unable to return to make edits.
