The University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business announced the recipients of this years Smith Leadership and Excellence Awards, honoring business leaders and organizations that have made significant and positive impacts on their industries and the community in the mid-Atlantic region. Smith School Dean Howard Frank presented the 2007 awards at a ceremony at the seventh annual Undergraduate Awards Banquet on Thursday, May 3 at 6 p.m.

Wendy Moe, an associate professor of marketing at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business, has won the 2014 Robert D. Buzzell Marketing Science Institute Best Paper Award for her research on social media intelligence.
The Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) has awarded two PhD candidates at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business $4,000 each to support international business-related research focused on Chile and China.
Gilad Chen, the Ralph J. Tyser Professor of Organizational Behavior at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, is the winner of the William A. Owens Scholarly Achievement Award. The award recognizes research with the highest potential to significantly impact in the field of industrial and organizational psychology. It is given annually by Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Chen will receive the award at the organization’s annual conference in Houston in April 2013.
