Corporate
The Center for Social Value Creation is uniquely positioned to partner with
corporations that see economic prosperity as going hand-in-hand with social and
environmental well-being. Through select programming we help our partners
develop new projects and initiatives, support research, and promote thought
leadership through guest lectures and special events. Opportunities exist for
every corporation interested in social value creation. Please contact Executive Director
Melissa Carrier to
discuss the possibility of working together!
For
the last three years Ernst & Young has contributed to the center’s hallmark
annual event, Social Enterprise Symposium. Ernst & Young contributed speakers
and event sponsorship in 2010, 2011 and 2012, and engaged audiences on the
topics of Corporate Social Responsibility. In 2012 E&Y hosted an exclusive
‘Board Room Discussion’ for a select number of accounting students as part of
our 4th Annual Social Enterprise Symposium.
In
2011 students in the Social Innovation Fellows program analyzed the
Outcomes-Based Delivery Methodology around IBM’s Smart Water initiative. Their
focus was to apply OBD methodology to water, transit, or public safety
initiatives. Final deliverables included a written and oral presentation of
final study results, and a case study of key policy requirements and issues for
consideration.
Through
the GE Healthymagination Case Competition, Smith MBA students developed
solutions to address infant mortality. Using business modeling and research
skills, the Smith MBA team proposed innovative and imaginative ideas to address
infant mortality in rural India, China, Kenya, and Indonesia with GE Healthcare
products. Their approach highlighted the importance of entrepreneurial thinking
in solving problems in healthcare.
