UMD Gold Chapter, Partner for 2012 Net
Impact Conference
Net Impact recently informed the Net Impact chapter of the
Robert H. Smith School of Business that the University of
Maryland has been selected as a Partner for the 2012 National
Conference to be held in Baltimore, MD on October 26-27th of
that year. In Net Impact’s own words:
The Net Impact Conference is the world’s largest and most
dynamic sustainability-related conference, and has been
established as an important forum for students, business, and
nonprofit leaders to network and learn from one another. It is
the only gathering in the world to bring together both graduate
students and professionals to explore the latest ideas, tools,
and careers that use business to achieve social and
environmental good. The conference mobilizes thousands of
students, alumni, and innovative business leaders through an
exciting and collaborative few days, featuring a wide array of
keynote speakers, panels, case studies, workshops, networking
and special events.
The responsibilities of partnership include chairing task forces
to ensure successful planning, logistics and execution of the
Conference, local marketing efforts across the DC/Baltimore
region, developing content for a number of Conference sessions,
and providing high levels of faculty and student support.
This news comes on the heels of the recent announcement that
the University of Maryland has achieved Gold Chapter standing,
an honor bestowed on only 13% of over 180 graduate student Net
Impact chapters across the country. Congratulations to the Smith
Net Impact chapter on both of these accomplishments!
