Advancing Social Enterprise

New Partnership Bridges Theory and Practice

The Center for Social Value Creation is pleased to announce the formation of a partnership with the Maryland chapter of the Social Enterprise Alliance (SEA) this winter. The partnership will give students the opportunity to explore more deeply the evolving field of social enterprise, interact closely with social entrepreneurs throughout the state, and gain hands-on experience in the field.

SEA is the largest membership organization for social enterprises in North America - defined as organizations and businesses that apply market-based strategies in solving today's social problems. The Maryland chapter officially launched in December 2010.

SEA actively brings together the diverse field of social enterprise by serving as an advocate for the field, a hub of information and education, and the builder of a vibrant and growing community of social enterprises.

The center and SEA will collaborate in the spring on a series of events aimed at fostering the local social enterprise community, connecting resources and strengthening opportunities for funding and legislative support.
