Partners

Ashoka

In 2008 the Smith School was selected as an inaugural “Changemaker Campus” in partnership with Ashoka, a non-profit network of social entrepreneurs. The Center for Social Value Creation and its multidisciplinary UM student team created Terp Changemakers to deliver innovative programs aimed at promoting innovation and social change.

Grassroots.org

Since 2006, the Smith School has partnered with Grassroots.org, a national organization providing free online services to more than 1,000 nonprofits in the U.S., to provide consulting services to nonprofits. Now in its 4th year, the Social Venture Consulting Program has matched nearly 90 MBA students with 36 nonprofits to address a range of issues and develop solutions that lead to more efficient, effective and sustainable operations.

Aspen Institute

The Center for Social Value Creation has partnered with the Aspen Institute’s Caseplace.org to highlight the Smith School’s teaching resources on social, environmental and ethical issues in business. These frequently updated resources are available on Smith’s Caseplace.org Partner Page.

UNPRME

The Smith School has chosen to engage in the UN’s Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Initiative, which aims to inspire and champion responsible management education, research and thought leadership globally. Smith’s achievements in following the PRME principles can be found at www.unprme.org

Engineers Without Borders

Through a partnership with Engineers Without Borders, Smith School undergraduate and MBA students have the opportunity to travel abroad and gain hands-on experience developing business solutions to social and environmental problems in developing countries such as Burkina Faso and Ethiopia.

Global Business School Network

The Smith School is one of approximately thirty leading global business schools that have come together to work with business schools in emerging markets on capacity-building programs and to share ideas and knowledge.
