Ashoka
In 2008 the Smith School was selected as an inaugural “Changemaker Campus” in
partnership with Ashoka, a non-profit network of social entrepreneurs. The
Center for Social Value Creation and its multidisciplinary UM student team
created Terp Changemakers to deliver innovative programs aimed at promoting
innovation and social change.

Grassroots.org
Since
2006, the Smith School has partnered with Grassroots.org, a national
organization providing free online services to more than 1,000 nonprofits in the
U.S., to provide consulting services to nonprofits. Now in its 4th year, the
Social Venture Consulting Program has matched nearly 90 MBA students with 36
nonprofits to address a range of issues and develop solutions that lead to more
efficient, effective and sustainable operations.

Aspen Institute
The Center for Social Value Creation has partnered with the Aspen Institute’s
Caseplace.org to highlight the Smith School’s teaching resources on social,
environmental and ethical issues in business. These frequently updated resources

 UNPRME
The Smith School has chosen to engage in the UN’s Principles for Responsible
Management Education (PRME) Initiative, which aims to inspire and champion
responsible management education, research and thought leadership globally.

Engineers Without Borders
Through a partnership with Engineers Without Borders, Smith School
undergraduate and MBA students have the opportunity to travel abroad and gain
hands-on experience developing business solutions to social and environmental
problems in developing countries such as Burkina Faso and Ethiopia.

The Smith School is one of approximately thirty leading global business
schools that have come together to work with business schools in emerging
markets on capacity-building programs and to share ideas and knowledge.
