“Transform Your World” Film Festival

Entry Guidelines

  1. Each video should be no longer than 5 minutes, including title and credits. It can be shorter--as short as you like, if it tells the story. You may enter more than one video, but you can win only once. It should creatively illustrate your student groups’ commitment to service and social good.
  2. Your video must be must be downloaded by midnight on Thursday, April 27th, 2009. Download instructions will be posted here and e-mailed to you closer to the deadline. You may also submit a DVD disk by 4:30 p.m., April 27th, 2009 to Melissa Carrier at the Robert H. Smith School of Business in 3570N Van Munching Hall.
  3. The video must have a title. You may include credits with the names of video team members, but they are not required.
  4. The final video should be saved as a .mov, .dv or .wma file. .dv file is preferred.
  5. Your video should be understandable and interesting. It can be serious, funny, clever, unusual, whatever you want to contribute!
  6. Language and other depictions must be appropriate for a general audience and should reflect positively on you and the University of Maryland.
  7. All footage, stills, or animation must be original or in the public domain--not copyrighted or the property of someone else--unless you obtain written permission.
  8. No copyrighted music on your video, unless you composed it. Use GarageBand or other programs that have music that can be used for any purpose, including showing on television or a Web site.
  9. You may work in teams or as an individual. But remember, the prizes go toward the organization that you are supporting.
  10. Terp Changemakers retains ownership of the physical copy of the video and may use it in sponsored or endorsed programs and activities, including public relations and recruiting efforts.
  11. Students may compete individually or as a student group.
  12. Videos may be shown on the UM website, the University of Maryland YouTube site and iTunes U sites, and UMTV.
