“Transform Your World” Film Festival

Mission

• Create awareness of social good on campus through student groups.
• Award groups that create social change and are committed to service.
• Inspire University of Maryland students to do even more.

Festival Details

• “Transform Your World” film festival will be held Friday, May 8th, 2009 in the Stamp Student Union. All students are invited to attend.
• Student groups who are selected from all entries will be given ten minutes to introduce and show their video on a large movie screen.
• Join a host of corporate sponsors and student organization that represent social and environmental efforts connected to the University of Maryland.

Who Can Enter

Any University of Maryland undergraduate or graduate student individuals or student groups.

What's Involved

• You script, shoot and edit a 3-5 minute video. You provide your own camera. You can use computer graphics or animation.
• Use your imagination. How can you make this interesting, understandable, exciting, and fun for an audience of you peers? Videos are not expected to look like professional productions, but they should be easy to watch.
• You can edit the video on your own computer or use university equipment. Click here to see where you can find computers with iMovie or Final Cut software. Take note of advice about storage space.
• Provide a DVD or CD Rom for the final copy. Save it in DV format. See more guidelines here.

Prizes

There will be two prizes totaling $2,500. A “People’s Choice” award will be chosen by attendees at the film festival on May 8th. The second winner will be chosen by a panel of distinguished judges and announced at the event as well. Proceeds should be used to advance your impact mission.
