EVENT HIGHLIGHTS: Smith Hosts 3rd Women Leading Women Event
Two-time Terp Brenda Freeman ’87, MBA ’91, isn’t shy about offering advice to women, no matter what stage they are in their careers. She headlined the Robert H. Smith School of Business’s third annual Women Leading Women event on April 24, 2014, during which she talked to the crowd about fitting into different corporate cultures, finding a good mentor and having a good work-life balance, among other things.
Thursday, April 24, 2014, 6:30 – 9 p.m.
Frank Auditorium, Robert H. Smith School of Business
University of Maryland, College Park
Women Leading Women is an annual event that celebrates and showcases our fearless female alums and other women in business and empowers them to reach their fullest potential. This complimentary event is open to all women from the student to the c-suite. Smith alumnae, professors, staff, and students, as well as women in our University of Maryland community and the region are all welcome.
Women need advocacy and support at each stage of their careers. While the number of females in management positions is growing, women still have fewer role models and mentors than men. Women Leading Women is an event for, by and about women, and presents opportunities to discover common ground and make lasting connections.
