Friday, February 27th, 2015, 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Stamp Student Union, University of Maryland
The Social Enterprise Symposium is one of the largest annual events on the University of Maryland campus. Created and hosted by the Center for Social Value Creation at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, the 2015 Symposium will explore positive social and environmental change from a variety of lenses.
Allies in the Schools of Public Policy, Arts & Humanities, Behavioral and Social Science, Agriculture & Natural Resources, Engineering, Business, and the Academy for Innovation & Entrepreneurship will each lead a session or workshop in this one-of-a-kind event! Participants will take part in interactive learning that emphasizes entrepreneurial thinking and motivating positive change.
We’re delighted to introduce Shira Shafir, Director of Social Innovation at TOM’s Shoes as our keynote speaker, and proud to welcome students from Colleges and Universities across the nation as part of the 2015 AshokaU Exchange.
The AshokaU Exchange is an international convening on social entrepreneurship in higher education. The 2015 Exchange will be hosted by the University of Maryland, an original "Changemaker Campus", and will take place February 26-28 in Washington, DC and College Park, MD. On Friday, February 27 the Social Enterprise Symposium will be the featured Student Programming Track of the AshokaU Exchange. The Exchange and the Symposium are ticketed separately.
