Markets Make Change
Friday, March 3, 2017
Noon - 5 p.m.
Van Munching Hall, Robert H. Smith School of Business
University of Maryland
The Social Enterprise Symposium (SES) is the University of Maryland’s premier event on social enterprise, socially responsible business, and corporate sustainability. Hosted by the Robert H. Smith School of Business, SES is a signature event of the Center for Social Value Creation and brings together 400+ students, staff, and faculty to explore the role of business in creating economic, social and environmental prosperity.
Unlike any other event on campus, SES is packed full of engaging speakers and hands-on sessions that facilitate networking with social impact executives, thought leaders, and peers interested creating a better world through business. This year’s theme, Markets Make Change, will inform a dialogue throughout the event that explores the role of market systems in addressing societal challenges. The 2017 Symposium will inspire attendees to think beyond traditional sector boundaries to collaborate, experiment with new business models, and activate market systems to address the world's growing list of complex concerns.
We are excited to announce our keynote speaker is Shannon Schuyler, Chief Corporate Responsibility and Purpose Officer with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Check out the agenda and speaker bios to learn more about specific breakout sessions and our guest speakers. Registration will open January 23, 2017. In the meanwhile, please save the date and plan to join us for an exciting, inspiring day of keynotes, breakout sessions, and catered networking!
As always, this event is free for University of Maryland students, staff, and faculty. We’re also delighted to announce that the 2017 SES will be returning to Smith and will take place within the walls of Van Munching Hall!
