Regalia

Regalia can be purchased at the University Book Center and cannot be rented. To purchase your cap and gown, which is sold as a complete package, please contact the University Book Store via phone 301-314-7839 or in person at their location in the STAMP. For Shady Grove students, regalia is also available in the SG Bookstore. Sudents must pre-order their regalia in person by Friday, April 3rd. Regalia will be delivered to the USG Bookstore in mid-April.

Students opting to pick up their regalia can purchase all their commencement needs on March 10, 11, and 12 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Grad Fair, hosted by the UBC. 

Please note: Regalia orders take approximately 8 weeks to process and receive. The deadline to purchase regalia is April 3. After this date, the selection of sizes and hood colors will be limited.

The following items are required and sold as a package:

  • Cap
  • Gown
  • Departmental hood: Smith School students should expect to get a gold collared hood reflecting their Bachelor of Science, MFin, or MS degree or a light brown hood for their MBA. The white collared hood is for the students earning a Bachelor of Arts.
  • Stole of gratitude
  • Tassel with official medallion

You will also receive 10 announcements (not invitations). If you wish to order additional announcements, contact the book center. All purchases must be made in person.

Tickets

Tickets are not needed for the Robert H. Smith School of Business commencement ceremony.

 

Tickets are required for the campus-wide commencement ceremony. Each graduate will receive four guest tickets and one processional ticket for their personal use.

 

Graduates can claim their processional ticket and guest tickets through their athletic online ticket account at umterps.com beginning May 4. After the tickets are claimed, they will be emailed in the form of a print-at-home ticket. Directions with log in access to the site will be emailed to all eligible graduating students on May 1 by Athletics.

 

Please note that all print-at-home tickets will have a unique barcode I.D. and will be scanned at the door. A ticket may only be used one time. After a ticket is scanned, the I.D. becomes null and void. Do NOT make photo copies of tickets as only the first scan of a ticket will allow guests to be admitted.
